Joining process:New members are welcome at Werribee International Pistol Club if you are interested in joining, you should contact our Secretary and arrange a time to look over the range. From there, we can advise on how to book your fingerprint appointment with Victoria Police, your National Police Check and Provisional Handgun License Application and handgun safety course.New members are invited to an induction and training course, where they learn the basics of shooting.During the first six months, whilst on a Provisional Handgun License, you are not permitted to purchase or own Handguns, may only shoot at arranged times as per the Club Calendar. Members can borrow club guns on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday. After 6 months, providing attendance and competition requirements have been met, new members can normally apply for a full handgun licence. They can then purchase their own firearms.WERRIBEE INTERNATIONAL PISTOL CLUB IS THE PLACE FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO OWN AND SHOOT HANDGUNS WITHIN THE LAW, RULES AND REGULATIONS APPLIED BY THE CLUB AND VICTORIA POLICE.We are a friendly and inclusive shooting club. New members are offered advice and coaching for all aspects of competitive shooting.WERRIBEE INTERNATIONAL PISTOL CLUB NEW MEMBER PROCESS: Completed applications (including 2 completed references, 2 passport photos) and the appropriate fees are presented to the Committee. The joining fee is $300 plus pro-rata membership fees to June 30. New members joining in May or June pay to June 30 the following year. If successful, the applicant is notified. If unsuccessful, monies are refunded. Until their provisional licence is received, all shooting will be under NORI (Notice of Receiving Instruction) form. A maximum of 13 NORI’s are permitted (in a person’s time) Unless a Junior Licence is held. New members will be introduced to pistol shooting by a one on one instruction. When the Committee is satisfied that the new member is safe and proficient they will be allowed to shoot in competition. During the first 6 months at the Club new members must pass the Police Safety Test, which is carried out at the Club. The Police Safety Tests are currently conducted on a needs basis under the supervision of Club Committee Members and nominated persons.
